I am Yolanda Furbert, a proud member of The Association of Bridal Consultants, and I am an energetic, businesswoman, wife, mother and grandmother (I am too cute to be a grandmother, so I am called “Yolie”). I am the founder, Creative Director and Principal Consultant of The Essence of Elegance Events and the Bermuda Association of Wedding Planners. I am Bermuda’s first Accredited Wedding Consultant and the first Master Wedding Consultant. I have a passion for event management, planning, and organization! I have been planning weddings, parties, dinners, fashion shows or any type of event since I was 14 years old!

With over 20+ years of experience in event & wedding planning has afforded me the opportunity to coordinate numerous functions from private dinners for 2, to a wedding with a total of 48 bridesmaids and groomsmen and over 5,000 guests. I am highly committed to bringing my clients individual, caring, professional service, and attention to detail. I understand the values of impeccable customer service, therefore, commissioned tasks are executed in a highly professional manner and with a personal touch.

I feel that education is key, and love attending seminars and retreats so that I can continue learning and growing with the changes and trends in this industry but without my faith and the love and support of my husband and family, I would not have been able to do all that what I do.
